I have always wanted one of these!

I have seen them at shows but the dealers always wanted STUPID money for them! Well now I have one!!!

It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Congrats!....we saw a few of these at the Macon show yesterday....I personally had never seen one.
<< <i>Now that you've acquired one of those...are you still going to continue coin collecting?
Are you kidding!!! Everyone knows I don't collect REAL coins!!!
Funny you brought this up...
I've always thought they were Kool and when Kryptonitecomics sold his I was lucky enough to get it at auction...
Yesterday I was at a small coin show here in Denver and a dealer had three of them for sale...
According to this dealer they were made at the 1909 Alaska-Yukon Pacific Exposition Worlds Fair in Seattle Washington as a souvenir. They had different size dies to accommodate different denominations of coins, this dealer had two Morgans and one Barber Half...
Marty... What do you consider Stupid Money...?
Here's mine...

The dealers here were asking $100 each for them.
I picked mine up on E-Bay for $20!!

Yeah, but think about how much cool stuff you could have by now if you were actually willing to pay more than 20 cents on the dollar....

Um...$20 is a steal...congratulations. But the going rate is around $100 or more for these, so stupid is a relative term. Or, a term for relatives.

P.S. Anyone have a pop-out 20 cent piece?

<< <i>The dies are still out there. I've seen many Kennedy halves and Ike dollars popped-out like these coins. >>
There were a set of dies on E-Bay last summer. They went in the $750 range!
Wow... $20 is a deal, I paid $80 for mine...
This Dealer had them at $150ea and his did not have the bezel...
Anyone ever hear the 1909 spin or was this guy fishing...?
With the dies still out there, dating these things is problematic...?

<< <i>I have heard somewhere that these were originaly made for the 1892/3 Columbian exposition. If so, they might have well made more at subsequent expositions. >>
I think these have been around for years.
My Morgan is a 1896, what's yours Marty...?

Hey, Shawn, it was nice to meet you and Wes. Thanks for lunch!
I saw those at the show, too. There was a whole set of them, in a Capital Plastics-style holder. I didn't look at the price, but the set caught my eye.
One of our members on the Metal Detecting forum was lucky enough to dig one a few years back. It was a Barber dime.
I agree we need to see one on a gold coin.
